Stickers!

The other night at dinner, CoCo and I played with stickers to help us sit still. I think the video says it all...

I guess stickers do feel pretty funny when they are on your face.

I love her

Left to Right: Spencer, Allex, Derek, Grandma, Trent
Haley, Chelesa
She was born to be our grandmother.

It's crazy how quickly life can change. Two weeks ago my sweet Grandma was her normal, energetic self. She'd been having sharp pains in her back and kept going to the doctor because she thought she had a pinched nerve. I hate to say it but I wish it were a pinched nerve!!! Her doctor kept giving her more pain medicine to help with the pain and the chiropractor couldn't figure out what was wrong either. The pain eventually became unbearable so my Grandpa took her to instacare and little did we know how bad an MRI could look. Come to find out, my Grandma has cancer EVERYWHERE. It's in about 20 places on her spine, her liver is covered with cancer spots, it's eating her bones, in her blood, taking over just about everything except for her brain....but it's in the bones of her scull too. How does this happen?! She and my Grandpa just climbed Machu Picchu less than a year ago!

Can you see her in there?

There's nothing the doctors can do for her and we were told it could be days...weeks at most. I just can't even believe it. She is in so much pain I just wish I knew how to help her. For now, I will continue to snuggle her.

Ticked

Is it ever okay to just be ticked at the world? Because I am today.

Mawage is what brings us together today...

Today is our 3rd anniversary! It's crazy to think that it has already been 3 years since Eric and I made the best decision of our lives. This post will get a little gushy but I'll keep it brief :)
I sure love that husband of mine. He has a way of making me laugh and is more genuine than any person I've ever met. Life is an adventure with this guy! We've been through some really hard things since that beautiful, snowy, February 11th and are better people because of it. I couldn't have asked for a better person for me. He is my best friend and always will be.

We kept the anniversary celebrations super low key this year which was exactly what I needed. Life has been a little too crazy lately so I loved just being together. We ended up going to Park City for dinner on main street which was delicious as always. Then we went over to the outlets and found a few must-have's and chocolate :) It was great! When we finished at the outlets, we headed home and watched our wedding video. I don't think we've sat down and watched our wedding video since our wedding dinner! (oops) We also haven't ever watched any of the footage taken by the videographer from the big day and that was really fun to see. I loved being able to see the shots from the temple grounds and it was also awesome to watch everything that went down at the reception. We got to see all the extra stuff that was happening while we were talking to everyone else; which was SO FUN! What a perfect day we had:)

Here's my attempt at a collage from some of the pics from

Lonely

So Eric and his cousin decided to take a quick trip to St. George to get out of the snow and golf this weekend. Initially in my head this sounded like an awesome idea, I imagined how nice it would be to have a weekend all to myself to do WHATEVER I wanted! I imagined myself getting a pedicure, maybe doing a little shopping, getting caught up on my enormous to-do list and watching as much HGTV as my eyes desired....until now. I just got home from school, it's 9:00 p.m. and the apartment is way too quiet.  I don't like it at all. How lame am I? Eric only left 2 hours ago! Pretty sure I'll sleep on the couch tonight...with a light on. This is pathetic.

Christmas Eve:

Christmas Eve (day) was a little hectic during the day with both Eric and I scrambling to get last minute things taken care of and wrapped but as soon as the sun went down, it was time to party. We went over to my Grandparents' house as I have my entire life (pre-marriage) It was so great to be with everyone and the food did not disappoint.

My Grandma had this genius idea this year because all of the gran kids are getting older and harder to choose gifts for, so at the beginning of December, she gave each of us the money she would have spent for our gift along with a role of wrapping paper. We were told to go out an buy something we've really been wanting, then wrap it in the paper provided and bring it to her house on Christmas Eve. When Christmas Eve came, we all sat down and one by one opened our gifts to show my grandparents what they'd bought us! Such a brilliant idea!
Eric and I chose to buy a bookshelf (not pictured) we've desperately been needing.

I wish I had pictures of the live Nativity we had...Eric and Chandler were two of the best wise men I've EVER seen. hehe

After everything wound down at the Hobson's we headed over to my in-laws where the Theurer's  hold a Testimony meeting every year on Christmas Eve, late after all of the grand kids are in bed. This has become one of the most tender parts of Christmas for me.We turn all of the lights out and sit by the colorful Christmas tree; adults only.  It gives me the opportunity to to slow down in all of the excitement and truly think of the Savior and of trials and growth from the past year.
Then it's time to head home to have a Christmas of our own.
CHRISTMAS DAY!
Santa doesn't even forget the big kids!

After we finished Christmas morning at our place, we went out to my parents ward and enjoyed a beautiful Christmas Sacrament meeting. From there, we went to my parents house for breakfast and gifts with all of my sibs. I loved having just us there to hang out and be with each other. I love that about Christmas!!! I'm so sad I didn't take any pictures while we were at my parents :(
By mid afternoon we were of to the Theurer's!

I'm missing a lot of pictures from Christmas day...but it may have been because I took them on Carol's camera.  haha I'm sure you get the idea of how it went down by now anyway, I'd just like to have them posted for my own memories sake :)

We had a blast this Christmas and mostly just loved being together. Here's to another year!!

I've Done it Again...

Darn it! I've fallen behind on the blog again... Pretty sure I'm never going to get the hang of this.
Anyway, so much has happened since the last post that I'm just going to have skim the surface.
1. We've Moved! Don't get too excited, it was just across the hall :) We'd been thinking about upgrading to a two bedroom apartment (not for reasons you're hoping for, sorry) we will not be requiring a nursery but you'd be surprised by what you can accumulate after almost 3 years of marriage. Yikes! It's even crazy to me to say that. It doesn't feel like 3 years at all but it is what it is.
One morning as I was leaving for work, I noticed boxes stacked in the stairwell...our Asian neighbors randomly decided to move out! This was perfect for us because apparently we are a little high maintenance when it comes to what we wanted; which was a two bedroom in our same building, on the top floor. (there are only 2) So we snagged it! Now we feel like we live in a mansion, I can't believe how much space just one extra bedroom adds. It's so awesome! We love where we live and it works just perfectly for us.
yep, it was a big move.

2. On Another note, we've both finished another semester! It feels so great to be able to have a life again, this fall semester was a duesy for both Eric and I and we're pumped to be able to say that it's over. YES!
It's hard to explain the feeling you get as you walk out of your last class at the end of finals week, knowing that no matter what; there's nothing left you can do. It's too late to tweak projects any longer or cram for tests and presentations...one of the best feelings in the world!
Here are a few pics of one some of my projects this term:

This was my easiest; we were told to design a light fixture from scratch. The only thing we we allowed to use that was already assembled was the bulb itself and some way to plug it in. This is what I came up with! I was actually pretty pleased with it and it only took 40 minutes to construct! (Thanks to Sam, Elias and Eric for gathering branches)

These two boards were part of the floral shop I designed. We were given the plans for a retail space at the Las Vegas mall and were able to gut it and design something of our own. I've been wanting to design a floral shop for some time now and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

This was a residential project for a condo with a nursery.
For this project we were to research a festival anywhere in the world and come up with a poster to advertise it.

I discovered this awesome festival in Spain called La Tomatina...It's worth checking out! Basically to sum up how it all goes down, the whole city comes together once a year and has a gigantic food fight-with tomatoes. It's the coolest; and the story behind how it all began is even better. To read more check out this site :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomatina  I'd kill to go someday.
