Easter

So this past weekend was Easter and I love Easter! I love Easter egg hunts and being outside. I love the chocolate and all of the cute little bright outfits the little kids wear to church on Easter Sunday and I love being able to start off the spring season with a newness and having a time to focus on our Savior. This past semester I was able to thoroughly study the New Testament. Something I'm embarassed to admit was long overdue. (Sorry this is where I get churchy) but there is no greater blessing than to have the opportunity to grow closer to the Savior. I found this quote this week that pretty much sums up a few of my thoughts.

“Words cannot fully describe the magnitude of the miracle that took place within the Garden Tomb that long-ago morning, but the angelic messenger captured its essence when he said, ‘He is not here: for he is risen.’ (Matt. 28:6.)

“It was an event long heralded by the prophets, long looked for among the Saints of God, long awaited by those in the world of spirits, yet little understood in the world at large, for none before had overcome the grave.

“The Lord’s resurrection completed the process of the Atonement that included His sinless life, His suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane, and His death on the cross. The Resurrection assured immortality for all, and the blessed Atonement provided a pathway to exaltation for those who will adhere to His gospel principles."

I'm so grateful for him and for his perfect example and for all he has provided for us; even eternal life. I know him and know that he lives. This is why I'm especially grateful for this Easter season.
On another note, one of my most favorite traditions takes place right around Easter. The Nelson Easter Egg Hunt at Aunt Connie & Uncle Craig's house! It's great to see so many familiar faces and get a chance to hold so many sweet babies!

Spring

As of lately it seems like Utah is finally deciding to bring us some spring! Although We've definitely had our share of April showers, I'm pumped! The grass is turning so green and the tulips are starting to sprout, it's been so great. This past Saturday was finally sunny so we decided to take advantage. I was able to run OUTSIDE and Eric found himself at Rice Eccles stadium playing some flag football. It was kind of hilarious, they had the announcers and instant replays and everything; needless to say these guys thought they were the "shiz." Eric had loads of great plays and made it the jumbo tron without effort...It was until the last play that I knew he could die happy. It was so funny, the teams were tied up and the opposite team was on the 5 yard line about to score until Eric, yes my Eric (the former lineman) intercepted the pass and ran it back for a 90 yard return! My favorite part of the whole thing was his face as he outran everyone and saw himself in the end zone. Priceless my friends. Priceless.
We also decided we wanted to hit up the driving range to soak up a few more rays. It felt awesome. I wish I would've been smart enough to take my camera to his game but I ran there and didn't want to risk any damage but here are a few from our golfing excursion.

We are so excited for this Easter weekend and hope the weather holds out for us! We have loads planned as usual but that's how we like it :)

Another One Bites The Dust

That's right, I have officially finished another semester. I feels like this degree is taking me 4 times longer than it ever should have.... word for the wise, NEVER transfer schools before you've completely finished a degree. It sucks and it never completely tranfers over the way it should. I feel like I've taken every one of my classes twice now! Oh well, better late than never I guess. Luckily I love what I'm doing so it makes for those long/late hours of homework a whole lot better. One of my final projects this semester was to build a retail space in 1/4" scale. We were given the square footage and requirements and were sent our merry little way! For the most part it was really fun, just like all Interior Design projects they almost always take way longer than expected but in the end I was really happy with the final product. I'll have to add pictures later cause I'm not exactly sure how to get it off my phone. All in all, I'm so happy the semester is OVER!!! Now I'm planning to enjoy my 6 weeks of  bliss :)
Our buddies also invited us to go with them on a last minute St. George trip for the boys spring break and it  was great. It rained almost the entire time but the boys were still able to squeeze in a round of golf. Suprised? Definitely not. Eric will golf wherever and whenever he can, just not in the snow. It was a nice change of scenery from being in Salt Lake for so long and it was even better to share it with great company.
Look who we ran into at the restaurant! We love The Biggest Loser so I was totally star struck when we saw these guys but they were super nice and friendly.

There's nothing better than a good game of Settlers!
In other big news, Eric won an Ipad2!!!! I'm so happy for him. He's been wanting one so badly since they came out and I tried everything to swing a way to surprise him with one for Christmas but they are super expensive and unfortunately we are still poor students so he was just gonna have to wait...But not anymore!!!! Eric won a contest at school and it was definitely a good win. Even I will admit that this thing is pretty awesome. I still can't believe it but we are both beyond pumped cause we never win anything.
A familiar scene the week we got it.

SLACKER

Pretty sure I should have a huge SLACKER stamped on my forehead when it comes to blogging. Whatever. Somehow I always seem to find time to check out new blog posts from everybody else but never have time to give a little TLC to my own. So I guess I'll blame it on school. So an update on what's gone down in the life of the Theurer's since the last post. Pretty sure that was back in October haha But Halloween was a blast! I love Halloween, Eric not so much. He had a bad experience as a 7 year old kid on Halloween night involving some horribly mean Jr. high kids. He and his buddy got mugged :( Really? who does that? but that's beside the point, Eric hasn't dressed up on Halloween since then. Until this year!!! We had a few parties to go to and after a few long discussions about how he would look even more stupid if he was the only person not in costume then if he'd just put in a little bit of effort. Not to mention the fact that he's an adult now and no Jr. high jerks would dare mess with him now. haha Come Halloween day I still had no clue whether he would actually dress up or not. Till I got a phone call mid afternoon, for those who know Eric, he struggles big time with decision making and when he does make a decision its subject to change at any second. Literally! So he calls me while I just so happened to be at Walt Mart with my mom and tells me he thinks he wants to dress up. So off I run to pick through what left of the costumes which is close to nothing and only the crappy ones are left. To my content I found a kids superman costume left(a one piece at that) with fake muscles chiseled into it. haha awesome. so I purchase the stupid thing and head home to see what we can do with it. We quickly cut the legs off and turn the muscle part into what we call Clarke Kent!!
A pretty darn good looking Clarke Kent if I do say so myself. After all of this tribulation of finding a costume for Eric, I totally zoned finding myself a costume so I improvised. I was mostly pumped because mine was free! But at the same time I don't know if I should be concerned that I could look this awful with everything I already owned...

Thanksgiving quickly came upon us and there's nothing I love more than a Thanksgiving Feast! Although this year was slightly different:
That's right, I had my wisdom teeth taken out just 48 hours before Thanksgiving. Such a dumb idea but my schedule is ridiculous so it was really the only time I could fit it in. I did it through a study so I couldn't exactly be super picky either but it worked out great! I must have been super lucky because I've heard so many horror stories about people getting their wisdom teeth taken out (study or no study) but I was totally fine! There's no avoiding the swelling of course but I felt great. I was told to take it easy and stay home for at least a day or so but I CANNOT sit still for that long. No way! I tried but by 11 a.m. the next morning I was so ready to get out of my apartment. So that's what I did :) and we have Jean Brown Research to thank for providing me the funds for Eric's Christmas this year!
Christmas was a blast as usual. We were loving having all of Eric's siblings in town aka the niece and nephews! We love them too much. We were both out of school and completely stress free minus work but that's life. For a solid three weeks or so we basically just bounced back and forth between my parents house and the in-laws. It was beyond awesome! Here are a few pics of the festivities:

                                                                   Christmas morning
Theurer Dart Wars...we don't mess around
Grandpa trying to load a gun one handed
                                                                    Xbox Connect
I don't even know what to say about these people and their sauces

                                                                 Good work Clarke

We also hit my Birthday :) I love Birthdays
Last but not least.... We just had our 2nd wedding anniversary this past week! Is that nuts or what? I think so. Last year Eric surprised me with a weekend getaway to Zermott resort up in Heber so i took initiative to make the plans this year. I love surprises but I'm horrible at pulling them off for other people. One of my many goals to improve on but I sneakily stole Eric on Friday from work on his lunch break only to get a couples message! yay messages are the best and these ones were well earned! Later that night I treated him to a date at one of his favorite restaurants Rodizio Grill. So tasty! Sorry, I totally forgot to take pictures. Slacker Once again.
Other than that, Eric and I are both beyond swamped with school and work. Pretty sure I haven't crawled into bed before 1:30 a.m. at all the past 2 weeks due to homework. Oh well, I've learned to truly appreciate any second of time I get to just sit.

Curve Balls

So far this fall has been nothing like we could have imagined but I am growing to the idea that it's been good for me. Due to several unforeseen events I have been forced to adapt to the idea that life definitely doesn't always go as we plan. A very hard lesson for a person such as myself to learn but it's crazy how Heavenly Father seems to have something else in store for me...I hate being out of control of my own life(to a certain extent) but who better to trust than the Lord? No one I guess.
I had my first major run in with this not too long ago when I met my Eric. He was (not to sound mean in anyway) but frankly unwanted. haha I am quite the planner and for as long as I can remember, I had planned on serving a mission. It was something that I'd prayed long and hard about for many years and had no doubt that it was the right thing for me to do. Nothing would hold me back(not to mention the fact that I had a missionary I'd bee avidly writing for the past year, yes I was one of those girls) My 21st birthday was around the corner and it was finally time to start filling out mission papers! I was so excited and so anxious. During this whole process, most know that I had been serving in the sorority presidency up at the University of Utah aka my life was spent up there! Long story short, one of my close Beta friends was throwing a huge BBQ and that's where it all unfolded.... I met this guy.
And all of my planning logic became a huge jumble. I was lost and confused because this was definitely NOT in the plan! After a whole lot of knee-spent time and an answer from the temple, I was forced to humble myself and take a giant leap of faith....Scary!!! Heavenly Father has other plans for me.
Once again, here I am with a few more curve balls. Big curve balls. But I know I will be a stronger person because of these. After all, that's what life is about right?!
So much easier said than done.

No Regrets

Well, unfortunately summer is pretty much over. Everyone is back in school (except me for a few more weeks) and the weather is slowly starting to cool down. Fall is my favorite season but it sure came fast! I can't feel too bad because Eric and I definitely had our summer filled with fun! I'm pretty sure it became a joke with our families because we were never in town for longer than 7 days at a time the entire summer! Not bad. We decided when we first got married(or maybe we just like to play too much) that we probably won't be able to just pick up and leave on last minute trips forever and that after munchkins start coming, we don't want to look back and wish we would've spend more time with just the two of us :) I'm a little selfish and love getting every chance I get to hang out with my hubby. We tried to count all of the trips we've gone on together in the past year and a half and lost track at about 26 I think. haha Impressive? I think yes.
Since I've slacked on keeping this blog updated after each trip throughout the summer, I will try to put some pics up from each trip and let the pictures do the talking....they do a better job than I do anyway.
Happy 23rd Birthday Eric!

I Surpirsed Eric with a quick trip to St. George! With our trusty friends the Branca's of course:)
